General travel advice for the UK and Ireland:

Temperatures: The months of July and August are the best for visiting the UK, however, having a varied climate does make it difficult to predict the temperatures! We can say, on average temperatures vary between 50f and 70f (13°C-23°C), although temperatures in the 80s and 90s are quite common in July.

Weather conditions are hard to predict in the UK and Ireland! Hopefully as we have chosen the summer for this tour we will have warm sunny days, however you need to be prepared for wet weather as well.

Clothing advice: Bring along a selection of clothing for summer and overcast days including sweaters and jackets and comfortable walking clothes. Hiking boots are strongly recommended, training shoes will be fine for some sites, museums and towns. Sun hats, sunscreen and sunglasses are also recommended.

UK pounds and Euros will be required throughout the trip. We will build in stops for cash machines and banks as guests require them.

If you have any health concerns about joining the trip please contact us. We will also be on hand during the trip, please speak to Gary or Maria if you have any concerns, we will do our best to help!

We often receive inquiries about the suitability of our tours for mature people and the fitness levels required to attend. We have a wide spread of ages joining us, quite often from 20 -80 years old. In almost all cases we will have our transport close to hand for anyone that would like to take a rest, please have in mind there will be a good amount of walking involved, generally the walking will be on flat ground, however in some cases there will be up hill hikes.

Snacks, we normally recommend bringing some nuts or dried fruit along to cover any long days/site visits. It’s always handy to have something to eat if you are hungry you may also enjoy something for some extra energy.

You may also wish to bring any vitamins or dietary supplements that you normally use at home.
